The Cube Accessability Information:
The venue is wheelchair accessible. The venue is located on the upper floor of the Arndale Centre, which can be accessed via lift. We have an accessible toilet on the upper level of our venue, which is accessible via lift.
The venue is a highly sensory experience that includes music, flashing images, lights and screens. Some people with particular sensitivities to lights/images, such as epilepsy, may experience a seizure when exposed to images, flashing lights or patterns that may appear at Urban Playground and therefore may not be suitable.
The Cube experience has a variety of games which alter physical demand, included activities such as standing, throwing, catching, leaning, reaching, balancing and bending. Ability to complete the games varies from player to player, but we would do our best to ensure every players gets as close to the full experience as possible. The Cubes are usually randomly selected, but if the team are informed of any particular access needs in advance, we can pre-define a route of the most suitable games to ensure players can play as many as possible. Other attendees can complete a a game on behalf of another attendee if not suitable.
We have had many pregnant people play The Cube experience in the past and have a fantastic experience. However, we do advise the discretion of each player and their needs. The following information is included in our health declaration, which all participants agree to by taking part: “The Cube LIVE has activities that include throwing, jumping and strenuous activity that you may want to avoid if pregnant. If pregnant, participants confirm that they will only undertake activities that are safe to do so. Participants confirm that if they have any sort of medical condition that they believe may affect their ability to safely utilise the activities, they must consult a qualified medical practitioner before participating.”. We do have one game we do not recommend for pregnant people, so ensure to let us know if any of the group are pregnant
If you have any accessability requirements, you are pregant or have any other medical conditions please let us know by emailing jmsuevents@ljmu.ac.uk
