Hello everyone!
For our next official hike, we’re heading to the Lake District—one of the UK’s most stunning national parks. Our destination is TBD but we will be doing an intermediate level hike. It’s a fantastic introduction to the Lake District’s dramatic landscapes and the perfect way to kick off our hiking adventures for the year.
The route is around 11-18km with roughly 600 meters of ascent. It’s considered moderate, featuring well-trodden paths, a short ridge section, and classic Lakeland scenery.
We’ll be meeting at Liverpool Central Library for 8:15am and aim to arrive at Keswick by 10:30am (via student cars). Please be punctual so we can make the most of our time in the fells.
Equipment
Footwear: Sturdy hiking boots are essential for the uneven, sometimes rocky paths.
Weather gear: The Lake District is known for changeable conditions, so bring waterproofs and a warm layer or fleece.
General items: Pack enough water to stay hydrated and bring snacks/lunch for energy along the way.
This hike offers a wonderful way to ease into the new year, with varied terrain and some of the most iconic views in the Lake District.
A quick reminder: Only purchase a railcard ticket if you have a valid railcard.
Looking forward to kicking off the new year with a day on the fells!
